Short term objectives (2007-2009)

  • To ensure at all times that the plans of the Trust are formulated within a national perspective.
  • To promote and increase awareness of the Trust’s existence.
  • To develop focus groups that will guide the development of the Trust’s vision.
  • To increase the membership of Te Tai Tamariki.
  • To recruit sponsors, and potentially investigate naming rights opportunities.
  • To embark on a major fundraising drive aimed at both the corporate and community level.
  • To focus on charitable trusts and foundations in further fundraising.
  • To mount regular interactive exhibitions, workshops and presentations, some to travel nationally.
  • To produce a procedure for the collection of works, and to begin the collection.
  • To have an office presence and part-time staff.
  • To identify prospective buildings suitable for housing the Centre.
  • To produce a feasible fi nancial plan for which the Trust is accountable.
  • To explore potential relationships with regional and national library networks with regard to existing library research collections.
  • To identify business opportunities for investors and contributors.
  • To develop, as a Trust, ethical policies and practices.
